Standard of Living

I think it is important to know about standard of living because it is a better way of seeing how wealthy, healthy , and educated a certain country is. This is important because you can see how a country's living environment is and you can see their different ways of surviving and using resources compared to other countries.

Ideas about economics and standard of living can be shown through the five themes of geography because if you take movement from the five themes of geography, you can see that there are goods and services in the economy. There can also be movement of goods and services which is why economy goes with movement. This is linked to standard of living, because the GDP of a country also has to do with how many goods/services are provided in a year.

Analyzing the world with the five themes of geography can help people get a better understanding of connections between people and Earth by allowing them to see a new view of the world, and all that goes on in the world. For example, people/goods are transported differently in different parts of the world, and also to study the places culture.

I think that movement is the hardest because the movement of ideas can be hard to find in a picture or in a country sometimes, however finding movement of people and movement of goods is easy to find most of the time.

                                                                 

Liam's Basic Map Skills Paragraph

Some things about basic map skills that I find easy is cardinal directions, I find it easy because once you learn, all the directions (north, south, east, west, northeast, northwest, southeast and southwest) it is easy to identify which way something is facing, for example, if you were doing a question such as, which direction is Russia from egypt, the answer would be northeast. Cardinal directions are easy if you just learn all the directions and which way they face. The most I struggled with was when I was making my imaginary map and I had to line up the latitude and longitude lines with the real world and make my country fit in. Basic map skills are necessary because you need to be able to know where all the continents and oceans are and if you wanted to travel you would have to know what continent you're going to and which ocean you're flying over.
